What a week!

There are so many new Notion things to learn. And not just because of Make With Notion.

My head is swirling with all the new possibilities and things I want to change in my Notion workspace, in the way I present client portals and how I'll slowly walk away from Tally .

So let's not wait any longer.

Let's dive into what happened during the week of October 21, 2024:

📣 The week's Notion updates

Make with Notion was THE event of the week. Many new features have been released and announced, including:

• You can now make Forms with Notion.
• ​Notion's Marketplace now supports direct payments, locked templates (reducing the risk of templates being pirated) and a lower fee than either Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy. It's available in XXX countries to start with.
• More flexible dashboard layout. This will probably change how people build dashboards and Notion Sites. Read how to use this feature here.
• Upgrades to their automation to include formulas and relations and conditional logic. It's quite complex but worth learning.
• Custom emojis mean you can upload your own emojis and icons and save them in Notion so it doesn't have to be uploaded every single time.
• Better, personalised URLS for Notion Sites
• Coming in 2025: Mail for Notion (you can join the waitlist here) and offline mode.

Not even 2 minutes after the keynote from Make With Notion was done did Matthias release this killer recap & demo of the new features. Watch it and you'll feel on top of all the latest releases.

A practical demo of what the new automations allow you to do. Daniel goes through six scenarios including sending emails and discusses the remaining limitations. Curious about the new forms? Daniel also has a video covering that topic.​

​Notion + Softr Integration: Unlock the NEW Data Source Feature by Dan Leeman (14 minutes)

Another big release this week came from Softr and the launch of their Notion integration. It allows us to finally have secure client portals and better-looking inventories, websites, etc. Dan shows us exactly how to make it work.

​12-Week Year Notion Template: Achieve Your Goals Faster by Chloë Forbes-Kindlen (15 minutes)

I'm a fan of the 12-week year. And Chloë's videos too because you walk away knowing exactly what to do next. So if you want a template demo of an action-focused goal-planning system, this is for you.

​Should you use Notion for Project & Task Management?! | Pros & Cons + BEST Tips by The Organized Notebook (10 minutes)

Not sure Notion'd for you? Maybe this video can help. One caveat though, in the cons, she discussed recurring tasks, and from what looks possible with the new automation features, I'm not sure this is quite a con anymore (although it does require in-depth knowledge of automation and formulas, which goes back to con #1, it can be a complex thing to set-up)

This is a true step-by-step guide in the sense it's written as if you've never used Notion before. Instructions are good but there are no screenshots so if you're a visual learner, skip this one.
