That's all for now. Let's get to it. Here's what happened during the week of December 2, 2024:
This is the first video I watched about webhooks. It's specific to Zapier, but the steps to follow would be pretty similar for other connector apps like Make.
Well, sort of. But not completely. You still need to use automations (rather than an improvement on recurring database templates). Which could be a roadblock for those on the free plan. If you have a Plus account, watch this to set up simple automations and make recurring tasks (with history tracking) possible.
Folders? In Notion? This is both a demo of what it looks like and a how-to if you choose to build your workspace in this way. You'll need to create two databases (one for "folders" and one for "files" that you'll then link to the rest of your information in your workspace.
I love seeing how other people use their Notion workspace, so I thought I'd include a little demo in the line-up this week. There's a mix of personal and creative work here, and it's a pretty simple setup (as in, it looks good AND easy to use).
Remember, you can catch all past episodes I've shared via this newsletter on this playlist.

Any beginner reaches a point where it feels like Notion is just a bit too *extra* and the overwhelm starts to settle. But here, Nate explains that keeping it simple, being clear about your goal and doing things one at a time is key to mastering the tool.
You could just look at the pricing table on the Notion site, but sometimes a neutral review helps you understand the pricing structure. So if you've been on the fence about upgrading to a Plus account, read this article.
This is a blog post about Notion written on Notion which I don't see a lot. Here, Bronek explains three use cases that make it easy to explain what Notion can do, for people for whom tech is not their thing. How do you explain what Notion is?
Do you like numbers? This is a summary of Notion in numbers for 2024. Could be interesting for those of you trying to understand how much Notion has grown this year alone.
A simple "how to", with all the options to format a table as fast as possible. Not databases - tables. They can look similar but they operate very differently.
๐ Upcoming events
I suspect the lack of online events is because we're close to the holidays. Or I'm having a hard time finding them. You can submit yours here.โ
There are A LOT of in-person Notion community events, especially focused on ending 2024 right and setting up your space for 2025. Check out all other events here.
