Hello Reader,
Online events seem to be winding down, but there are plenty of opportunities to meet in person if there is an active community near you.
There are useful videos and articles this week, but nothing major was announced. So this leaves us (me, mostly) with plenty of thinking space to get work done and put in place some more of the new features that have come out in the last month.
Let's get to it. Here's what happened during the week of November 18, 2024:
3) More of Make with Notion's videos have been released and are worth watching. My favourites are Marie Poulin's presentation on Notion as a curiosity engine and Andrew Mason's Build your dream Notion setup (the last 5 minutes will have you laughing)
This is not a tutorial like most of Frank's videos. It's very much his opinion and a good explanation of why database permissions still make Notion a less-than-ideal tool for service providers who want to share things with clients
This is a replay of a live workshop. If you are considering going deep into Notion consulting, David gives a good picture of what's possible, where the needs are and what your next steps could be with a sneak peek at some of the lessons from his course.
This is a lovely mix of an interview and a demo of Anupriy Kanti's Notion workspace. He thinks about using Notion to build "Playbooks" instead of SOPs to allow for more flexibility so the processes can change and evolve as his team's culture does too.
Covers everything from the basics of forms to a demo of how you can integrate them into your current system. More specifically, it shows how to use a form for client enquiries, one for idea generation and how to use forms with an existing CRM.
Super simple things to try: use the calendar, use buttons, track your time (with formulas), eliminate habit trackers (use templates instead) and integrate your journal into your task database (with a template once again).
There are A LOT of in-person Notion community events, especially focused on ending 2024 right and setting up your space for 2025. Check out all other events here.
